Overview

Stephen Holmes is a litigator who has extensive experience in a wide range of complex litigation matters, representing individuals, corporate clients, and governmental entities through pre-litigation and litigation phases of a case with an eye toward trial.

Stephen’s practice focuses primarily on cases involving personal and catastrophic injury, wrongful death, negligence, 42 U.S. Code § 1983 and related excessive force claims, and employment law.   He also serves as monitoring counsel in cases with potentially high-risk exposure.

As a defense attorney who represented law enforcement officers and former deputy district attorney, Stephen has substantial experience in various settings, successfully trying cases to jury verdict and representing clients in internal investigations, alternative dispute resolution, and administrative hearings.

Stephen draws on his prior experience representing corporate clients to assess a client’s potential exposure from the onset of an incident and proactively formulate a pre-litigation and litigation strategy to best resolve a matter while simultaneously preparing the case for trial. In addition to representing clients in active litigation, Stephen also has a wide range of experience in corporate and government internal investigations.

Stephen joined Taylor | Anderson, LLP from a firm where he provided general counsel to members of the Fraternal Order of Police and represented law enforcement officers involved in critical incidents, officer involved shootings, internal affairs investigations, criminal cases, and employment related administrative proceedings.
