James "J.D." Murdock has extensive experience defending clients in complex litigation including wrongful death and catastrophic injury cases involving products liability, automobile liability, 42 U.S. Code § 1983, genetics testing, fire and explosion, and premises liability claims, several of which have garnered or have had the potential to attract media attention. In addition, he has defended medical malpractice, construction litigation, breach of contract, class action, and general negligence claims. He also frequently serves as monitoring counsel in potentially high-exposure cases throughout the country.
J.D. has successfully represented clients in all aspects of litigation including in state and federal jury trials, arbitrations, appellate court proceedings, mediations, and administrative law hearings. He is licensed in Arizona, Colorado, Florida, Montana, Utah, and Wyoming, and has appeared as pro hac vice counsel in Alabama, Arkansas, California, Kansas, Kentucky, Louisiana, Michigan, Minnesota, Nevada, North Carolina, Oregon, Pennsylvania, and Virginia.
In addition to his litigation practice, J.D. also is involved in transactional work including drafting of contracts for various marketing and consumer research companies.
